on behalf of the martin county bar association (mcba), i thank you for visiting our website and i encourage you to take a few minutes to look at our upcoming events, the sidebar monthly newsletter, and list of committees to get a better idea of all that the mcba has to offer. the mcba is a voluntary bar association founded in 1955, serving not only martin county’s legal community, but also the legal needs of treasure coast residents. our membership includes more than 500 attorneys, judges, paralegals, and legal professionals residing in martin, indian river, okeechobee, st. lucie, and palm beach counties. we are thrilled to have so many active members that truly make this an excellent organization! the mcba hosts monthly luncheons (from august – may) which give members an opportunity to network, socialize, and obtain cle credits, at no additional charge. we enjoyed wonderful speakers in 2017-18, including u.s. magistrate judge shaniek maynard ; university of florida law professor mary adkins ; incoming president-elect of the florida bar, john stewart ; florida bar president michael j. higer ; nineteenth circuit chief judge elizabeth metzger ; and professor charles wolfram . if you are an existing member, you should receive your renewal application in the mail mid-june. if you are not a member but you are interested in joining the mcba, please contact us. i look forward to seeing you at our next luncheon on august 17, 2018!
